Ebola virus disease is a viral infection among humans with a fatality rate of up to 90%. The largest outbreak of the diseases was recorded in October 2014.This involved more than 10,100 cases mainly in West Africa. Nurses, doctors and other healthcare workers were on the forefront to fight the disease.

The purpose of the study was to find out knowledge of African students in Ternopil state medical university on Ebola virus disease.

A quantitative research approach was applied. Data was collected from one hundred and twenty students. The data collection was analyzed and presented in a high-low percentage form of the findings using table, bar and pie chart.

The findings suggested that the students had a general idea about Ebola virus disease. However there were gaps in their knowledge concerning signs, modes of transmission, prevention methods and treatment of the disease. The students expressed their wish to study and get more educated on the subject.
